A total of 71 men and 56 women from India will participate in the event. This is the first time that a large number of athletes have represented India at the Olympics. Earlier in 2016, Rio de Janeiro had a record 116 Indians in attendance.
The matches are televised on TEN 1. In this, commentary will be done in English. The Olympics will also be televised live on Doordarshan. The commentary will be made in Hindi. Commented in Tamil on TEN 4.

India got off to a great start this morning, the 12th day of the Tokyo Olympics. Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra advanced to the final. After that, in wrestling, India’s Ravikumar Tahiya advanced to the final in the men’s 57 kg weight category.
Another Indian, Deepak Punia, lost in the men’s 86kg semi-finals and qualified for the bronze medal. The Indian women’s hockey team lost 2-1 to Argentina in the semi-finals to advance to the bronze medal match.
