2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Intorduction:

Cadillac has introduced an all-electric rendition of its iconic Escalade, the beloved large luxury SUV synonymous with A-listers worldwide. While General Motors already boasts an electric SUV in the GMC Hummer EV, the Escalade IQ sets itself apart with a focus on opulent luxury and refined on-road performance. Boasting remarkable figures including an estimated 450-mile range from a substantial 200-kWh battery, up to 750 horsepower, and a maximum towing capacity of 8,000 pounds, the new Escalade IQ showcases impressive capabilities.

Loaded with cutting-edge technology, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will feature standard hands-free Super Cruise, accompanied by an extravagant interior boasting a 55-inch diagonal LED display. It embodies the essence of the Escalade with enhanced speed, serenity, luxury, and emissions-free operation.

John Roth, Global Cadillac’s vice president, remarked, “ESCALADE IQ sets a new standard, much like the original Escalade did twenty-five years ago. This reinvention of an icon signifies Cadillac’s progression toward an all-electric future.”

Highlighting Cadillac’s legacy of innovation, Roth added, “For over 120 years, Cadillac has epitomized bold American luxury. The ESCALADE IQ embodies this ethos in its most refined manifestation.”

2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ Pricing:

While specific pricing details for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ have yet to be disclosed, projections suggest a starting range of approximately $99,000, potentially climbing up to $130,000 based on selected trim levels and optional features.

Drawing comparisons with the current gasoline-powered Escalade, which begins around $83,000, the transition to an all-electric model is anticipated to introduce a plethora of advanced technology and amenities, likely resulting in a higher starting price nearing the hundred-thousand-dollar mark. Anticipate generous standard features such as large wheels, ample cargo capacity, and lavish leather upholstery.

Cadillac Escalade IQ Interior, Comfort and Cargo

The gas-powered Cadillac Escalade already has a superb cabin replete with plush materials and impressive technologies, and the interior of the Cadillac Escalade IQ is even more special. Said to be inspired by the worlds of fashion, upscale furnishings, and architecture, the dashboard is particularly stylish and uncluttered.

The cockpit is a technological hub with a pillar-to-pillar LED display that measures 55 inches across the width of the dashboard. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. which also boasts virtual Smart Controls, integrated Google built-in, live traffic updates, and the ability to download your favorite apps.

The impression of luxury is further elevated by the cabin’s elaborate lighting and choice of materials. There are 126 color choices for the ambient lighting, and this system even illuminates the interior decor and trim. Two trims, Luxury and Sport, will give customers a choice regarding how the cabin is attired. Laser-etched patterns liven up the wood panels, and there will be a selection of four interior themes. As seen in these pictures, the perforated Nappa leather in this color, which looks like Cadillac’s ‘Brandy’ hue, looks particularly classy.

Access to the cabin is facilitated by automated doors, while the expansive glass roof enhances the perception of abundant passenger space. Despite its larger dimensions, legroom across the three rows is slightly more confined compared to the standard model, though headroom is notably ample. The Cadillac Escalade IQ accommodates seven passengers across three rows, with the third row featuring power-folding functionality to optimize cargo capacity. An optional Executive Second-Row Seating package offers 12.6-inch personal screens, a rear command center screen, dual wireless phone charging pads, massaging seats, and headrest speakers, all integrated into the premium 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference sound system, with additional 36-speaker upgrades available.

To ensure comfort, the vehicle features a five-zone climate control system and UV-filtering film for the glass roof, along with an array of driver-assist safety technologies. In addition to the standard three-year Super Cruise hands-free system (with Ultra Cruise available later), the Escalade IQ includes blind zone steering assist, an HD surround-view system, and front pedestrian and bicyclist braking.

While traditional cargo space in the Escalade IQ is slightly reduced compared to the standard model, with 23.7 cubic feet behind the third row and 69.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded (compared to the standard model’s 25.5 and 121 cubes respectively), the EV nature of the IQ introduces a front “eTrunk” boasting 12 cubic feet of storage, ample enough for two golf bags and supplemented by an available storage tray.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life:

While the EPA has yet to certify a driving range estimate for the Cadillac Escalade IQ, GM has set a target of 450 miles on a single charge for the all-electric Escalade. Achieving this goal relies on the Escalade IQ’s 200.0 kWh Ultium battery pack working intelligently. With its 800-volt architecture, downtime for recharging the sizable battery bank is minimized; reportedly supporting DC-fast charging rates capable of adding 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Utilizing a Level 2 charger, the IQ can handle 19.2 kW AC, translating to approximately 36 miles of range per hour. Updates will follow with EPA estimates and findings from our own 75-mph highway driving range test as soon as they become available.
